This is how the personal alarm's inactivity alarm works

The user or relative activates the inactivity alarm in the Sensorem app.

In the Sensorem app, the sensitivity of the inactivity alarm can be set, i.e. how long the clock is allowed to be still before an alarm is sent to relatives.

If the clock has been stationary for longer than the set time, an alarm is sent to relatives as this may indicate that the user has fallen and been lying down but did not have the opportunity to press the alarm button.

To avoid false alarms, the service detects whether the watch is charging and in such a case does not send out an inactivity alarm to relatives.

The default is that inactivity alarms are not sent out at night when the clock is normally silent then due to that the user is sleeping but the inactivity alarm can easily be activated also for night time.

Does the watch have automatic fall alarms?

No, the user must press the physical alarm button to sound the alarm. What we offer instead is an inactivity alarm where relatives receive an alarm if the user has been inactive for an extended period of time.

The automatic fall alarms on the market today are not accurate enough to catch all falls – for example, a user may fall very gently without triggering an alarm – in these cases automatic fall alarms provide false security. Another problem with automatic fall alarms is that they can generate numerous false alarms and thus rather create increased anxiety among relatives.

All in all, we have therefore chosen not to use automatic fall alarms, but instead developed the inactivity alarm function. When the development has progressed and we find an automatic fall sensor that is good enough, we plan to build this into the security watch.

Ett annat problem med automatiska fallarm är att de kan generera åtskilliga falsklarm och på så vis snarare skapa ökad oro hos anhöriga.

Sammantaget har vi alltså valt att inte använda oss av automatiskt fallarm utan istället utvecklat funktionen inaktivitetslarm. När utvecklingen kommit längre och vi hittar en automatisk fallsensor som är tillräckligt bra planerar vi att bygga in detta i trygghetsklockan.

If the user presses the alarm button, relatives receive an SMS + alarm notification and they are automatically called by the smart watch. In the Sensorem app, relatives can see the user's GPS position, which is displayed on a map in real time. They can call directly to the watch's built-in speakerphone and talk to the user.
