On 18 November, Sensorem took part in a seminar at KTH focusing on how modern safety technology can reduce the risk of fall accidents among seniors. During our presentation, we showcased how Sensorem’s mobile safety alarm increases freedom and independence for older adults [1].
Safety also outside the home
Many seniors limit their movements because municipal safety alarms typically only work indoors. This leads to reduced activity, less fresh air, and fewer social interactions — factors that increase the risk of falls [2].
With Sensorem’s safety alarm, users can call for help both indoors and outdoors, enabling them to move more freely and live a more active life.
Increased physical activity reduces fall risk
Regular movement is one of the most important protective factors for preventing fall accidents [3]. When seniors feel safe enough to go out and stay active, muscle strength and balance improve. Sensorem’s smartwatch also makes it easy to track steps and activity levels, often motivating additional daily exercise.

Safety alarm with automatic fall alarm can increase safety for people with an increased risk of falling
Sensorem’s personal alarm is an example of a technical aid specially developed for people who have an increased risk of falling. The personal alarm can automatically trigger the alarm in the event of a fall and then call relatives using the watch’s built-in speakerphone with two-way communication. The personal alarm works outdoors and has built-in GPS positioning so that relatives can see the user’s position on a map in the Sensorem app.
