Sensorem launches geofence

Sensorem launches geofence – a new feature in the Sensorem app that allows relatives to set up a virtual zone on the map. If the user leaves this zone, relatives are immediately notified with a real-time GPS position.

What is geofence?

A geofence is a zone that a relative marks on the map via the Sensorem app. It works like a virtual boundary – if the user steps outside the zone, relatives are alerted. The notification includes a real-time GPS position showing exactly where the user is.

Why is geofence useful?

Geofence is primarily designed to help relatives of users with dementia know that the user is safely at home, without having to worry about them wandering out unnoticed. Those who care for someone with dementia know how stressful it can be not knowing whether their loved one is safe. Geofence means you can rest easy as a relative, and the GPS function in the watch makes it easy to locate the user if they leave the safe zone.

What do you do if you receive an alert?

If you receive an alert that the user has left their safe zone, you can see where they are via the Sensorem app. You can then call the user’s watch directly and speak with them. This allows you to guide them home or let them know that you have called for help if needed.

Is geofence included in the monthly subscription?

Absolutely! Geofence is now automatically available in the latest version of the Sensorem app, which means both existing and new customers can start using it today.
